Mother’s Day Gift Wrap


As my family & friends know, I love to wrap gifts. To me the package is as important as the gift itself. There is an extra delight in receiving a gift that has been thoughtfully packaged. I designed these 2 pages of gift wrap to inspire you to wrap your Mother’s Day gift in this fresh, bright color palette. There are 2 pages to the PDF template that can be printed onto a letter weight 11X17 inch paper. The handmade paper peony is a perfect gift topper for your Mother’s Day gift. Who doesn’t love getting gift cards? I designed this petal style Mother’s Day gift card to be either a stand alone card for gifts of time and experiences, or to hold a retail gift card. Either way, it makes a beautiful display for your sentiments of love for your mother. The PDF template has both a back and front. Print the front onto a heavy card stock, turn that paper and print page 2 onto the back. Trim the petal card with an xacto knife or scissors, score the edge of the petal using a scoring tool or the back of a butter knife and a ruler, punch a hole in each of the two side petals, fold the petals and use a ribbon through the holes to secure it closed. Peonies are my favorite flowers. They are a little wild looking, yet so elegant. There are so many varieties in both shape and color. I have been brewing on how to make a paper peony from something other than crepe paper, which is no easy task. Here is what I came up with. I picked a text weight paper called Strawberry from Paper Source to make this flower. Friday I will show you some different ways you might use this Peony for Mother’s Day. ~Lia



I was inspired to make this paper flower backdrop by one of our favorite wedding websites. So simple and lovely, I can see a few other uses for this garland backdrop that goes beyond wedding. For now, it will remain a beautiful wall sculpture against our charcoal wall.
